We're the Jolleys.

Hi!

Hey there! We’re the Jolley family--Mom, Dad and three kids. Two years ago, Mom decided that on March 1, 2025 we should swap our cozy life in Pullman, WA, for six months on the open road. After lots of planning on her part and lots of trailer preparation by Dad, we are ready to roll through the U.S. in our 5th wheel. Along the way we expect to embrace the unexpected and make memories as we go. We're blogging the whole thing! Check back each week to see how we're doing. (If you're our friends, then you can skip the slideshow presentation after we return to Pullman.)

Here’s a little about each of us:

David

(a.k.a. Dad, the Captain of the Ship)

David’s the guy behind the wheel, steering us through winding roads and unexpected detours—both literal and metaphorical. When he’s not navigating highways, he’s probably studying for his next semester at WSU or working to get genius level on the NYT Spelling Bee.

Tamsin

(Mom, the Mastermind)

Tamsin’s the planner, organizer, and snack distributor. She’s the one making sure our chaos stays somewhat under control. When she’s not wrangling the crew or snapping photos for the blog, you’ll find her soaking in the scenery and finding beauty in the little moments.  Beware if you are behind her in a museum because she will be reading every placard.

Myra

(Twin #1, the Explorer)

Myra’s always ready for the next adventure. Whether it’s hiking a new trail, discovering hidden gems, or diving into a good book by the campfire, she brings curiosity and energy to every stop.  She hopes to see even MORE of the scenery with her running plan to prepare for her next cross country season.

Will

(Twin #2, the analyst)

Will notices things that will go over most people's heads. He's also still stale about the fact that he has to be twin #2, but he makes up for it by competing with Myra every day in everything. He loves to run, play basketball, and sing.

Zina

(The Youngest, the Dreamer)

Zina’s our 8-year-old bundle of creativity. She’s the artist behind our truck and trailer drawing—a masterpiece— that started as a school project and became part of our adventure! She will really miss our kitties, Midi & Aari but she’s excited to try a sabbatical.  Especially from school.

Beast Mode & Bella

our homes on wheels

Beast Mode, our Ford F-350, and Bella, our Grand Design Reflection 311BH, shown here in their native habitat, will be our homes on the road.  They are looking forward to warmer climes!

Why are we doing this?

You might wonder:

Simple: we wanted to shake things up! We’re older parents who met later in life, so we’re making the most of our youthful vim and vigor while we’ve still got it. This sabbatical is about spending quality time together, seeing the country, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

So, buckle up and join us on our Jolley Odyssey—we promise it’ll be a ride to remember!
