It is a beautiful Sunday morning and I have some time and thought I should give an update on trailer living. It is working GREAT for me so far. It is amazing how easy it is to keep a 296 square foot space clean! As a bonus, our storage space is so limited that I have to carefully consider anything that I bring into the trailer on a permanent basis! Here is a little tour of our temporary home! Enjoy! And, make comments! I love to hear from my friends and family who are reading the blog!

Starting in the front of the trailer, this is the master bedroom. RVs come with very uncomfortable stock mattresses and ugly brown bedspreads. I think the blue makes the space more cheery and the mattress was replaced with a Nectar mattress which we like a lot. I wish I had the time and energy to do more to make the entire trailer more “homey” but that is just not my passion! The other picture is of the main bathroom. One thing we love about our trailer is the double entry bathroom, the cabinets you see at the back of the photo are in a slide and there is a sliding door that goes into the far side of the MB. I am taking the picture from the other door. The shower is awesome and I like it better than my home shower. The blue bin is the clothes hamper. Probably the only thing I am sad about in the trailer is the clothes closet. In this model they added a drawer under the closet that makes the closet very short, making all my dresses bunched up at the bottom but really that is such a minor issue!

The first picture is the kitchen and is taken looking towards the front of the trailer. It is sometimes a balancing act to get dinner made around dishes that have piled up during the day. As you can see we have a pretty much full sized refrigerator making it easy for me to get a week’s worth of groceries at a time. The people who owned the trailer before us built in a keyboard tray and we have found that handy! That entertainment center and fireplace (hidden behind the keyboard stool) are right across from the couch you see Will sitting on in the third picture. Some of the updates we did to the trailer were to take out the dinette benches and replace them with storage ottomans, freeing up some space for a longer sofa. The theater seating sofa is a unique kind that has two recliners but can also be a full sofa because the console in the center is a flat seat (it is amazing that such a thing was so hard to find and purchase!). One thing that didn’t make it into the picture is the floor to ceiling pantry to the left of the stove. Several “essential” appliances–my bread machine, instant pot, waffle maker, blender, and griddle–are stashed in the nooks and crannies of the pantry and ottomans.

The first picture is the kids’s bedroom. This RV comes standard with a tri-fold sofa under the upper bunk and I was worried about how to replace it with a permanent bed. But, the used trailer we found had already done all that work, and painted the bedroom white. The second picture is looking towards the front of our trailer at the tiny half bath. The kids don’t like it much, it is very small, but it is great to have a 2nd option when needed. The final picture is to show how we store our coats and shoes. The shoe hangers were Christmas presents from the Wackers. I LOVE the new shoe rack, it keeps our trailer entrance uncluttered and that is wonderful.
On Saturday & Sunday nights we made an unschedule stop in Perry, Florida enjoying a much nicer campgroup. We attended church at the very welcoming Perry Branch and enjoyed the storks that came through the campground regularly. Now we are in the Campsites at Fort Wilderness in the Disney World Resort. I am the type that really dislikes big touristy places but it is hard not to like the way Disney does things. Everything is done to make you feel “magical” and for some reason it works. More about that in the next post.
