On the first partial day in Maine, we celebrated Dad’s birthday with a dinner of Swedish meatballs. After dinner, I played wiffle ball for a couple of hours, and then went to bed. On Thursday, we got a slow start, heading out to our hike at about 1:00. The hike was called the Beehive Trail, and it was pretty intense. It featured several switchbacks and almost vertical inclines aided with iron rungs. It was definitely worth it for the view, though ⬇️.

After hiking back down, we rejoined Dad and Zina at the beach, where Myra and I dunked in the freezing water before walking back up to the truck and going home. For dinner, we got take-out from a local tavern, which was quite good, and then we went to bed. Friday was our last partial day in Maine. I woke up and did school as usual, but then we didn’t leave until almost 6:00 and didn’t get to bed until after midnight. On Saturday, we went to see the Hopewell Rocks at the Bay of Fundy.

It was very beautiful, and Myra and I had a great time skipping rocks on the water. After visiting the bay, we went to our next Airbnb in Truro and watched a movie starring Paul McCartney called Give My Regards to Broad Street (no spoilers). That essentially sums up our Saturday, so onto Sunday. It was a Fast & Testimony Meeting at church (Their stake conference was the week prior), and Dad bore his Testimony in a ward that he served in on his mission. After the sacrament meeting, we had a rather interesting lesson surrounding the D&C chapters for that week. After church, we mingled for about 20 min, and then drove to our next Airbnb in Charlottetown. The Charlottetown Airbnb was very nice and aesthetic. We ate a dinner of pasta and went to bed. On Monday, I went grocery shopping with Mom, which was very hard due to the fact that all of the selections at the stores were very random/small. After shopping, we walked to a nearby market where we got lunch. Next, we went to Cavendish, the childhood home of the author of Anne of Green Gables. It was a very nice experience that wasn’t too mentally taxing. After Cavendish, we went to a restaurant called Fin Food, which had some decent fish. Following dinner, we went back to the Airbnb and got some good sleep. On Tuesday morning, we packed up and headed out to another Airbnb in Arichat. For the rest of the day, I practiced wiffle ball, and then ate dinner and went to bed. On Wednesday, we drove 2hrs to the Louisbourg Military fortress, where we received a tour of the area and were educated on how the military was run. After the tour, we went into the museum-like part of the area, where we learned about how the soldiers lived. After we finished looking at the museum, we drove back home, ate dinner, and went to bed. The next day,(Thursday) we packed up all of our things again, and drove to our next Airbnb in Halifax. Once we got there, we unpacked, and I searched downtown Halifax to search for a good place to get take out for dinner. We settled on a restaurant called Randy’s Pizza and Donairs. The food was good and our Airbnb was by far the best up to this point. After dinner, I went out in search of a place to practice wiffle ball, so I went to the Halifax commons where I found some 12 baseball fields, all being used. I was disappointed that I couldn’t practice, but also happy that my favorite sport was also well-loved in Canada. I then returned to the Airbnb and headed to bed. On the very next day, we got up early to make a tour of Halifax. We went to a cemetery that featured some victims of the Titanic, and we learned about some other large shipwrecks that had claimed the lives of many. After going to the cemetery, we checked out Peggy’s Cove which had some exquisite views of the sea, and some good Mango Lemonade as well. After this, we got in the guide’s car, and drove back to Halifax to head to our final Airbnb in Yarmouth. When we arrived, we unpacked as usual and I went to play wiffle ball at a nearby field. I came back around nine and went to bed. We got up early the next morning to make the ferry back to Maine. On the ferry, I got terrible motion sickness, so I just napped for most of the ride back. We relaxed in the campground for the rest of the day and Zina made some new friends. On Sunday, we went to the local ward in Ellsworth. (Happy Father’s Day) In our Sunday school lesson, we did almost nothing because we got out early to help set up for the Father’s Day pie feed. I was surprised to see that whilst setting up the tables and chairs, the young men and women insulted each other mercilessly and undermined the positive spirit of Father’s Day. In the end, it was fine, and we were able to serve everyone in the ward a slice of pie. After church, we went on a short, peaceful hike in Acadia National Park, and then relaxed for the rest of the day. For dinner that day, we had delicious pork tenderloin. I ate way too much of it and got a really bad stomach ache after dinner🤣. On Monday, I woke up, did school, and ate breakfast before playing wiffle ball for the next 4 hours.

Finally, the kid that we were playing with had to leave, and we called it a day. We ate dinner and got to bed relatively early to prepare for leaving on the following day.
